FORT WORTH, Texas – Outdoor soccer was played indoors Friday for only the second time in the 15-year National Elite Prep Showcase history.
Below-freezing temperatures in the Dallas-Fort Worth area led to the cancellation of all outdoor high school contests, but NEPS was able to surge on by using the Sam Baugh Indoor Practice Facility on the Texas Christian University campus. Thirteen time-shortened matches took place on TCU’s indoor football field that was stretched to its maximum width to handle soccer. The venue left specators, players and coaches ringing the facility, just inches away from the out-of-bounds markers.

FORT WORTH, Texas – It seems only fitting that Amy Burr scored on a night that was summed up as “Brrrr” to kick off the National Elite Prep Showcase.
Burr, a junior, scored the second goal as Plano West (Texas) played to a 2-2 draw with SIMA FAB 50 No. 26 Harvard-Westlake (Calif.). The game time temperature was 36, but the wind chill put it at 26, according to weather.com. By the time the late matches kicked off, the temperature was near 32 with the wind chill knocking that down to the low 20s.

NEPS: The event that has changed landscape

FORT WORTH, Texas -- The numbers don't lie.
Of the 37 teams competing at this year's National Elite Prep Showcase, 20 have appeared in the TopDrawerSoccer.com region rankings and 12 currently are ranked in the SIMA FAB 50, including the Nos. 1, 2, 3 and 4 teams.
Simply put, there's no other event like it for girls soccer any time of the year. And no other event plays a bigger part in assessing the national landscape for winter girls soccer.

NEPS17 Weather Update #2 COMPLETE 3-DAY SCHEDULE

With anticipation of cold mornings and evenings we have adjusted the schedule accordingly.  Thanks again for your patience as we have been working hard to finalize the schedule.

Thursday and Saturday matches will be full matches with 40 minute halves.  Friday will be the coldest day so we have secured 2 more facilities in the area, Mustang-Panther Stadium right down the street from Dragon Stadium and TCU's Sam Baugh Indoor facility.  Matches on Friday will be shortened games at 35 minute halves with a 5 minute halftime.

All matches must run on time so their will be a running clock.  The officials will start the time when the game is scheduled to kick off.  There is plenty of room at all facilities to warm-up so please have your team ready to kick-off at the scheduled time.  There is very little space at TCU's Sam Baugh Indoor Facility so please make the best of the space available so the games can stay on time.

Directions to all facilities are available by clicking the tab above "Directions to Fields and Host Hotel".

We don't anticipate any further changes but will continue to watch the weather as it changes.  It is Texas so we could have all 4 seasons during one day.

Here is the FINAL SCHEDULE as of 1-5-17...

NEPS Schedule - Weather Update #1

NEPS 2017 - Weather Information

We are a couple days out from the kick off of NEPS 2017 and high school soccer weather is ahead of us :).  We are watching the weather closely and it is going to be cold.  No precipitation is expected which is good.  As of now, schedules remain unchanged.

We are pretty sure that Thursday and Saturday games will all remain the same but are looking to adjust Fridays games.  We may just end up having everyone play 1 game on Friday and shorten halves but we are working on this now.

More details upcoming!!
